Dance Team!

1. Wash and moisturize your face the way you normally would. Apply eye and skin primer, foundation and concealer. If you have fantastic skin, you can forgo this step, or you can just conceal your dark circles, the area around your nose, and any discolorations you may have.
Product suggestions
Primer: $$$ - Too Faced Primed and Poreless for face, Too Faced Shadow Insurance on Eyes, $ L'Oreal Studio Secrets Primer
2. Apply a medium brown shadow to your eyelid area. If you have a monolid, apply this shade in a small half moon shape from your lashes up about 1-2 cm.
Product suggestions
Eyeshadow: For this look, I used the Naked Palette from Urban Decay*. The lid shade I used was Smog. NYX makes a good glamorous neutrals palette as well (A la Mode and Je Ne Sais Quoi are probably the most similar). Both Wet 'n' Wild and NYC also have good three color neutral brown palette's (Wet'n'Wild's Walking on Eggshells is one of the best deals ever!*).
3. Take a darker brown shade and create a "v" on the outside corner of your eyelid. If you have a monolid, you can skip this, or you can estimate where the "v" would go, and do it there. I used Darkhorse from the Naked Palette.
4. Take another dark shade, or the same dark brown you just used (I used a mix of Gunmetal and Hustle from the Naked Palette) and sweep it into your crease in a windshield wiper motion. Concentrate the color near the outer corner of your eye, beneath your eyebrow arch. If you have a monolid, brush this color above the first medium brown color, overlapping slightly and focusing the color on the outside corner of your eye.
5. With a fluffy brush, blend all of the colors on your eye together. (I used Sephora Professional Collection, Quo, Too Faced and MAC brushes to create this look, but fingers/q-tips work too.
6. Press a small line of medium brown eyeshadow into your lower lash line. This step is kind of unnecessary, but I like how finished it makes the shadow look. (I used Smog for this part as well)
7. Draw a black line (not too thick, not too thin) along your lash line (try to get it as close to your lashes as possible! Don't leave a gap) using eyeliner.
Product suggestions:
I love Too Faced's Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner and Urban Decay's 24/7 Eyeliner, but Covergirl, L'Oreal and Wet'n'Wild make more affordable liner that is good too!
8. Trace your waterline with black eyeliner. Skip this if you have small eyes.
9. Tap glitter over top of your eyeshadow. I used Too Faced's Glamour Dust, but there are tons of options available at the drugstore. Just make sure that the glitter isn't chunky, because it is dangerous if you get that in your eyes.
10. Curl your lashes if you have an eyelash curler and apply mascara to top and bottom lashes. Waterproof is preferable, but any long wearing type of mascara will do! You could alternately wear false lashes, but that isn't necessary.
Product Suggestions:
I'm using Too Faced's Lash Orgasm and Bourjois Volume Express mascara here, and I also like Buxom mascara but I love just about anything from Maybelline, L'Oreal or Covergirl.
11. Apply blush (and bronzer if you want) from the underside of the apples of your cheeks outwards under your cheek bone. Don't apply too much. We aren't on stage so you don't need to go too heavy on this.
Product Suggestions:
I really like Benefit, Clinique and Too Faced blushes, but NYX makes some fantastic ones as well. There are plenty of options available at the drugstore, you really can't go wrong if you choose a neutral pink, mauve or peachy color.
12. Apply a red or bright pink lipstick, not gloss! Use a lip balm if your lips are dry, but we are wearing our hair half up-half down, so if your hair gets in your face, it would stick in lipgloss, so don't wear anything sticky.
Product Suggestions:
Any lipstains available at the drugstore are good options, but I LOVE Covergirl's Natureluxe Gloss Balm in Peony*, for something that's not sticky, not too bright, and super hydrating.

That's the look finished! You can set the look with powder or a setting spray if you wish. Remember that the products are just suggestions. Anything that works for you is good, just stick to the color scheme I used above.
For hair, part your hair on the left side and do a small braid starting at that part, on the right side. Grab the hair above your left ear, and tie it into a ponytail on the back of your head with the braid with a small hair elastic.

Dance Costumes

Top: Black cami, Red crop top
Feet: Bare feet or nude foot undies
Headlock -
Bottoms: Black leggings
Top: Black cami, Blue top
Feet: Black jazz shoes
Black and Gold
Bottoms: Gold shorts, Tan footless or stirrup tights

Other: I'd strongly recommend wearing a thong if you're in my dance, because those shorts show off any panty lines. Don't wear a leotard as your black top, same issue. Wear your tights under your leggings to make changing faster.
Don't Stop -
Bottoms: Black leggings
Top: Black cami, Black sequined crop top
Feet: Black jazz shoes

Wear a good bra with straps that are either nude, skin tone, clear or black. Also, please shave. Please. EVERYONE MUST BRING BLACK JAZZ SHOES, A BLACK TANK TOP OR CAMISOLE, AND BLACK LEGGINGS. Do not wear bright nail polish, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, or earrings larger than small studs.

Other things to pack: Hairspray, a hair brush, extra hair elastics, a bottle of water, a few bland crackers (in case you get nervous and need to settle your stomach), baby powder, deodorant, a bottle of cold water (there is a water fountain outside of the gym, but there are a lot of us, and we don't have time to waste when changing), lipstick.

*These are a few of my favorite things
